The Most Terrible Thing

After the creation of man, God expected man to be absolutely obedient to Him. Unfortunately, man disappointed God by the terrible deceit of the devil which left a giant wound on man's destiny. God was seriously sad with this event yet He did not want man to utterly perish. For this reason, He made a sacrifice of atonement for man's sin by shedding the blood of bulls yet God was not satisfied with it   “For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats really to take away sins” . Hebrews 10:4 (TLB).  Jesus now had to come to shed His own blood once and for all.   “Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.” Hebrews 9:14 (NLT) Wonderful prophecies had gone forth before the birth of Jesus. The angels announced His birth with happiness. The trinity manifest...

Luke 23:33 1.  Years I spent in vanity and pride,     Caring not my Lord was crucified,     Knowing not it was for me he died     On Calvary     Mercy there was great and grace was free     Pardon there was multiplied to me,     There my burden'd soul found liberty:      At Calvary. 2. By God's Word at last my sin I learned,     Then I trembl'd at the law I'd spurn'd     Till my guilty soul, imploring turned     To Calvary. 3. Now I've given to Jesus everything,     Now I gladly own Him as my King.     Now my raptured soul can only sing.     Of Calvary. 4. Oh! the love that drew salvation's plan     Oh! the grace that brought it down to man     Oh! the mighty gulf that God did span ...

Evil, Good and Good, Evil

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. — Isaiah 5:20 It is Satan's practice to convince people that what God calls good is actually evil and what God declares evil is, in fact, good. Satan persuaded Adam and Eve that their disobedience, rather than their obedience, would guarantee a full life. They believed him and immediately began to experience sin's consequences! Despite the absurdity of Satan's logic, he continues to deceive people into doubting what God has clearly said. King Saul sought Samuel's affirmation for the sacrifice he had offered, even though he had acted in direct disobedience to God's command (1 Sam. 15:13). Ananias and Sapphira expected praise from the early church for their offering, though they were blatantly lying (Acts 5:1–11). An Amalekite soldier sought David's gratitude for killing Saul, God's anointed kin...

8 Hidden Truth About Jesus In The Qur'an

Jesus has always been a controversy among many religions of the world. Among the religions in the world are two prominent ones - Christianity and Islam. Despite the terrifying hatred the Muslims have for Christians, it is storming to discover that Jesus still found a space in their holy book - Quran. Here are 8 hidden facts and truth about Jesus in the Quran that are often ignored and overlooked by the Islamic scholars. Jesus was born of a Virgin قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَامٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِي بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا - 19:20 She said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?" قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُ آيَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِّنَّا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَّقْضِيًّا - 19:21 He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.' " فَحَمَلَت...

The Last Enemy

Man by nature has many enemies, and he is constantly trying to overcome them, they may be nature, wild animals, fellow human beings, situations, etc. Fortunately, all these may be conquered using one strategy or the other. But there is an enemy the Bible calls the last enemy.   “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” 1 Corinthians 15:26.  This last enemy is a leveler, it is no respecter of persons, it has dealt with kings of the earth, lords, chiefs, serfs, the good men, evil men and even the innocent men. Death has two parts – physical and spiritual. Everyone is indebted to the physical death which is not negotiable but the Spiritual Death is the most terrible one, it's a matter of choice. It is a disaster when a man dies the spiritual death, he would have been a wasted investment before His maker. Death has a sting which is sin, (1 Cor. 15:56) and if anyone can conquer sin, he has overpowered death. Unfortunately, all have sinned by Adamic nature an...

How to Use The Shield of Faith

The shield is a piece of armour carried on the hand for protection. Faith literally is having trust, assurance or confidence in a person or that person's word. By bible's definition of faith in Heb 11.1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (KJV) Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. (HCSB) Faith is what makes real the things we hope for and a proof of what we cannot see. It is an obedient action in response to what God had said. It believes in the unseen (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) Faith is total reliance on Jesus Christ and the works of God. It is also the total dependence on God and willingness to do his will. It is the medium through which God carries out his assignments through men. Faith is needed to access the prayer room of heaven for answer. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.” Matthew 21:22 (NLT) Doub...

Your Worst Enemy

It has been said that ignorance is one of the worst enemies of man. It has left many destinies unfulfilled. Physical ignorance is bad but the spiritual ignorance is the worse. There has always been a trend going on right from one generation to another that “Jesus is coming back soon” but many ignored it because it has always been said by the ancient men and it never came to pass, and for this reason, many are steadfast in their evil works. Some received their reward instantly like imprisonment, untimely death, terminal diseases, etc. and some did not receive any reward/judgement and they continue to say there is none that sees them. The Bible says, “Because God does not punish sinners instantly, people feel it is safe to do wrong.” Ecclesiastes 8:11 (TLB) One of the greatest ignorance of man is DELAYED JUDGEMENT. All the thoughts of “I was not caught in the act, and that's all”, “no one else knows, so there will be no punishment”, “I've been doing it and succeeding, ther...

HYMN: As I journey thro' the land singing as I go | Ninu irin ajo mi beni mo nkorin

Rev. 22:4 1.  As I journey thro' the land singing as I go     Pointing souls to calvary-to the crimson flow,     Many arrows pierce my soul from without, within;     But my Lord leads me on, through him I must win     Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face     There to sing for ever of His saving grace     On the streets of glory let me lift my voice;     Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice. 2. When in service for my Lord, dark may be the night     But I'll cling more close to him, He will give me light     Satan's snares may vex my soul, turn My thought aside;     But my Lord goes ahead, leads what'er betide 3. When in valleys low I look towards the mountain height,     And behold my Saviour there, leading in ...

Deny Yourself

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.” —Matthew 16:24 Sin causes us to be self-centered, shifting our hearts from God to self. The essence of salvation is an about-face from self-centeredness to God-centeredness. The Christian must spend a lifetime denying self. Our great temptation will be to affirm ourselves while we follow Jesus. James and John did this when they chose to follow Jesus but asked for the two most prominent positions in Jesus' kingdom. Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached Him and said, “Teacher, we want You to do something for us if we ask You.”  “What do you want Me to do for you?” He asked them.  They answered Him, “Allow us to sit at Your right and at Your left in Your glory.”  Mark 10:35-37 (HCSB) James and John wanted a discipleship that would not impede their personal desires and aspirations. Like them, we say, “Lord, I want to be pleasing...

HYMN: I'm pressing on the upward way - Higher Ground | Mo ntesiwaju l'ona na

ENGLISH LYRICS: I'm pressing on the upward way Lead me to rock that is higher than I. Ps.61:2 1.  I'm pressing on the upward way,     New height I'm gaining every day     Still praying as I onward bound     Lord, plant my feet on higher ground Chorus:     Lord, lift me up and let me stand     By faith on heaven's table land     A higher plane than I have found     Lord, plant my feet on higher ground 2. My heart has no desire to stay     Where doubts arise and fears dismay     Tho' some may dwell where these abound     My pray'r my aim is higher ground 3. I want to live above the world     Tho' satan's darts at me are hurl'd     For faith has caught the joyful sound     The song of saints on higher ground 4. I want to scale the utmost height     And catch a gleam of glory bright     But still I'll pray ...

How to Use the Shoe of the Gospel of Peace

"...and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace..."  Ephesians 6:10-18 (NKJV) The shoe is a piece of armour worn by the Roman Soldiers to protect their feet Loins/belt ==> Truth Breastplate ==> Righteousness Shoe ==> Gospel of peace Shield ==> Faith Helmet ==> Salvation Sword ==> Word of God (the only offensive weapon) As reproduction is part of the characteristics of living organisms, so also a born again Christian should be ready to reproduce another like himself. The gospel of peace is what acquaints the unbelieving world about God's salvation plan and inevitable doomsday of mankind. It is by it man can have peace with God. It reconciles man back to God. Benefits of the Sharing the Gospel of Peace 1.    It brings opportunity to witness the manifestation of God's power over sinners. You will see how the word of god through the power of the Holy Spirit breaks down the wicked and sinful hearts...
